About EJH Collectables

EJH Collectables is a UK‑based firm specialising in interesting books, art, watches, vinyl, and works we class as industrial — material that documents technical development across science, engineering, architecture, and technology. The business is run by Ed Hateley, an almost‑retired software developer with long‑standing interests in rare books, artwork, music, horology, and technical progress.

Every item is individually sourced, inspected, photographed, and described with care. Stock is acquired gradually and deliberately, with an emphasis on interest, scarcity, condition, and provenance. Although we offer a wide range of items, certain themes — particularly the crossover between books, art, and technical development — often guide our sourcing.

Our experience in research and hands‑on collecting shapes how we select and present our items. We aim to offer a changing inventory informed by knowledge, curiosity, and a commitment to quality. Our focus includes modern first editions and signed literature, high‑quality production art and photography books, rare vinyl from early pressings to contemporary variants, collectable watches from 19th‑century Swiss pieces to modern designs, and framed art and works on paper ranging from oils, watercolours, mixed media, sketches, lithographs, and rare prints.

Our approach is straightforward: every item deserves to be understood properly before it is offered for sale. That means careful inspection, conservative grading, detailed photography taken at the time of listing, clear and detailed descriptions, honest notes on condition, secure packing, and straightforward communication before and after sales.

We also offer appraisal and pre‑clearance guidance for individuals looking to understand, value, or prepare collections for sale. This service is practical, honest, and grounded in real experience of house clearance, helping sellers make informed decisions whether they are handling a single item or an entire houseful.
