Eleanor Catton, Birnam Wood, Signed, First Edition, First Printing, 2023
An Eleanor Catton Birnam Wood Signed first edition, first printing published by Granta Books in 2023.
Signed directly by Eleanor Catton on the title page and complete with the original Topping & Company Signed First Edition wrap issued for the bookseller’s signing event.
Birnam Wood marked Catton’s long-awaited return to fiction following the extraordinary success of The Luminaries, which won the Booker Prize in 2013 and established her as one of the most significant contemporary literary voices of her generation. Blending literary fiction, psychological suspense and political intrigue, Birnam Wood examines environmental idealism, wealth, power and human ambition against the backdrop of modern New Zealand.
The novel received widespread critical attention upon publication and quickly became one of the most discussed literary novels of the year. As a signed first edition from a Booker Prize-winning author, it has become a desirable addition to modern literary collections.
This example remains particularly attractive as it retains the original Topping & Company Signed First Edition wrap, an issue point often discarded after purchase. Its survival alongside the signed volume provides a complete and highly presentable example of the bookseller-issued signed edition.
