Koffee, Gifted — Sealed LP (Columbia Records, 2022)

Gifted is the debut full‑length studio album by Koffee, released in 2022 through Columbia Records. Following the success of her earlier singles and the Rapture EP, the album presents a cohesive and fully realised statement of her musical identity. This sealed LP edition preserves the release exactly as issued, with the shrinkwrap intact and the sleeve showing no signs of opening or handling wear. The artwork reflects the album’s bright, contemporary aesthetic, aligning with the themes and tone of the music.

Musically, Gifted blends modern reggae, dancehall, and melodic pop‑influenced production. Koffee’s vocal delivery remains central throughout, combining rhythmic precision with a warm, uplifting tone. Her approach balances clarity and energy, creating songs that feel both immediate and carefully crafted. The album’s production incorporates clean percussion, rounded bass lines, and subtle electronic elements, resulting in a sound that is contemporary while still rooted in Jamaican musical tradition.

The album explores themes of positivity, resilience, ambition, and personal grounding. Koffee’s lyrics often emphasise encouragement and forward movement, reflecting her characteristic focus on optimism and self‑determination. The tracks vary in tempo and mood, moving between more reflective pieces and rhythm‑driven songs that highlight her dynamic vocal phrasing. The overall tone of the album is cohesive, presenting a unified musical identity that builds on the foundation established in her earlier work.

Across the tracklist, Gifted demonstrates Koffee’s ability to merge traditional reggae influences with modern production techniques. The arrangements often use spacious mixes, allowing each element to sit clearly within the composition. Guitar lines, percussion, and bass interact with subtle electronic textures, creating a blend that feels both familiar and forward‑looking. The album’s pacing supports this mixture, offering a balance between energetic tracks and more measured, melodic moments.

The physical presentation of this LP edition features the full‑colour sleeve artwork associated with the album’s release.
