Robert Holdstock “Eye Among the Blind” Signed First Edition, First Printing
A signed first edition, first printing of Eye Among the Blind by Robert Holdstock, published by Faber and Faber in 1976.
This copy has been signed by Holdstock without dedication on the title page.
Eye Among the Blind was Holdstock’s debut novel and marked the beginning of a distinguished literary career that would later see him achieve international recognition through Mythago Wood, winner of the World Fantasy Award. Early signed material from Holdstock is encountered considerably less frequently than later works, making signed first editions of his debut novel particularly appealing to collectors of modern fantasy and speculative fiction.
The novel presents an early example of the themes of myth, perception and altered realities that would become increasingly prominent throughout Holdstock’s later work. As his first published novel, it occupies an important place within the author’s bibliography and remains a sought-after title among Holdstock collectors.
Particularly noteworthy is the condition of the original dust jacket. Faber science fiction titles from this period are often found with varying degrees of spine fading and colour loss, especially to the bright red and pink elements of the design. This example retains notably strong and vibrant colours, giving it excellent shelf presence.
An attractive signed first edition of Holdstock’s scarce debut novel and an increasingly difficult title to acquire in comparable condition.
