William Golding Signed Limited Edition, A Bibliography 1934–1993, No. 78/100
Regarded as the definitive bibliography of Golding’s published work up to 1993, the volume provides a detailed record of the Nobel Prize-winning author’s books, appearances and publications. It includes a foreword by Golding and remains an important reference work for collectors, bibliographers and scholars of twentieth-century literature.
The deluxe issue is considerably scarcer than the standard limitation and was produced to a notably higher specification, with quarter blue morocco leather over grey cloth boards, gilt edges and a matching slipcase. The publisher’s erratum slip, explaining the numbering anomaly affecting the signed issue, remains present.
The book presents attractively and remains in Near Fine condition from a visual perspective, with clean boards, strong gilt and a clear William Golding signature upon the limitation page.
Please note: despite prolonged airing, a noticeable residual tobacco/smoke odour from previous ownership remains. The odour has reduced but is still present and prospective purchasers should be aware of this. The condition issue has been reflected in the asking price.
An increasingly uncommon signed Golding limitation and an important bibliographical reference work relating to one of the major English novelists of the twentieth century.

Condition Report
Very Good overall.
Near Fine book in a Near Fine slipcase. Clean and attractive throughout, with strong gilt, clean text pages and a firm binding. The original slipcase remains sound and well preserved. The publisher’s erratum slip remains present.
A noticeable residual tobacco/smoke odour from previous ownership remains despite extensive airing. The odour does not affect the structural condition of the book but is noted, has been factored into the asking price, and is the reason the overall grade has been reduced to Very Good.
